Im almost done with holding my breath! Barry said we only had a fortnight and liquidation was a possibility. No news on community club and takeover as close as it never has been! With Conference fixtures out soon, gonna be interesting to see if we feature!

It seems that Evans and his cronies are still hanging out for more money. SA are reluctant to back out as they will lose the money they've already invested in the project, but they refuse to cough up more cash to Lavaflow.

Remember, there is an exclusivity clause in operation. SA is the only company right now who can buy BUFC off Lavaflow, so there's a stalemate. In any case, I can't see anyone else wanting to buy BUFC, even if they were allowed to talk to Lavaflow. I think BP has gone quiet because SA doing the deal with Lavaflow is the only chance Boston has right now of starting next season in Unibond North.

Barrie and Henry are being as patient as they can given the circumstances but with the Conference fixtures due out early next week, I assume a decision has to be reached by Friday.

Personally, I'd be happy to have a brand new club playing in the same league as Scarborough or summats. Keep the amber and black, lete Henry run everything and play at the Dabsi if York Street isn't available. I think the people of Boston will support this new team both through the turnstiles and by sponsorship/donations. Then let Lavaflow sort out their own mess because we'll have a club to support.

Strange situation with the Dasi Shodfriars. Because of the way it was set up and funded with Lottery and other grants I believe, "commercial" football was never an option. However, it looks as if the Boston council tax payers have funded it to the tune of 6-8 million. An investigation into the funding of it is due to be published this week according to last weeks Standard, this may mean that the council has more say in it's future use. Who knows? Interesting piece here:- http://my.telegraph.co.uk/boston_eye/may_2007/what_s_your_white_elephant_.htm

As someone who has lived away from Boston for many years, I must admit that I have never been inside the Dabsi, but I remember when it was being built, saying to folk "why are they spending money on something like this in Boston?"

It was supposed to be a national class facilitiy for disabled athletes, but why would disabled athletes want to traipse all the way to Boston on a regular basis? It just didn't make sense.

Is it suitable for football? How many seats are there, what about terracing and floodlights and turnstiles...all the things you need for a football ground? If it is okay for the demands of life in Unibond North and crowds of up to 2,000 (which BUFC would get if it won the league)?  Does anyone know?

Shods - there is a few hundred (?) seats, a running track which is well used by the athletics club but for how long no one knows because the people who "run" the dabsi have fell out with the main man at the athletics club - and a wooden fence round it.

Very nice place to view from the Boardsides (I think NOT) and the rugby cloub have got it sewn up that THEY will be the only ones to play inside. NO football allowed

And it's only cost the ratepayers a few million AND RISING
